ANEW-LIFE

ANEW-LIFE

ANEW-LIFE is a project that supports the clean energy transition in three Ukrainian lighthouse cities - Zhytomyr, Kalush, and Nizhyn - by developing, testing, and validating innovative financing mechanisms for the reconstruction and decarbonisation of municipal energy infrastructure, despite the ongoing Russian aggression. ANEW-LIFE pursues four key objectives: (1) developing a bottom-up methodology to co-create clean energy plans and financing instruments; (2) validating novel financing tools driven by energy modelling and stakeholder insights; (3) promoting replication in at least 10 further Ukrainian and 10 EU cities; and (4) assessing the long-term scalability and sustainability of the project's outcomes. ANEW-LIFE is co-funded by the EU LIFE Programme 2021–2027, running from October 2024 to September 2027. The consortium brings together 12 partners from across Europe and Ukraine: EnGreen (Italy, Lead Coordinator), BluEnergy Revolution (Italy), Climate Alliance (Germany), FifthVolt (Austria), EnerSave Capital (Luxembourg), AFIN – Alternative Financing (Romania), Ecoclub (Ukraine), DiXi Group (Ukraine), Global 100% RE Ukraine, and the municipalities of Zhytomyr, Nizhyn, and Kalush. The project is funded by CINEA under delegated powers of the European Commission.

Area Zero Cluster

Area Zero Cluster

The Area Zero Cluster unites 14 EU-funded projects advancing together a coherent pathway towards zero-carbon farming. The cluster connects complementary expertise in agrivoltaics, renewable energy systems, circular bioeconomy, sustainable land use, practical on-farm innovation and digital tools. Instead of isolated initiatives, the stand highlights the value of a joint European cluster approach that unites pilots, research, demonstrations and stakeholder engagement into a shared decarbonisation pathway for agriculture. Through its partner networks, demonstration sites and outreach, the cluster reaches farmers, researchers, technology providers, advisers, public authorities and other actors in the clean energy transition. By bringing together 14 projects under one stand, the Area Zero Cluster offers a strong multiplier effect at EU level, making knowledge, solutions and lessons learned more visible, more accessible and more useful for wider uptake across Europe. Each project reinforces part of this pathway. PV4Plants develops agriPV systems improving crop conditions through light, water and climate control. Symbiosyst creates modular agrivoltaic designs tailored to different crops and landscapes. Value4Farm links agrivoltaics with biogas to show how farms can combine food and energy production. AgEnRes advances renewable energy planning for varied farm types, while TALOS introduces robotics and sensing to support efficient operations. Pyragraph contributes pyrolysis concepts for circular bioenergy. Solmate enables affordable rural energy access using repurposed PV and storage. Legacy projects add tested insights: TheGreefa on low-energy greenhouse systems, REGACE on CO₂-responsive agrivoltaic greenhouse systems, HyPErFarm on agrivoltaic layouts and energy flows, AgroFossilFree on fossil-free technologies for agriculture, Renaissance on community-based clean energy models, AgroBioHeat on agrobiomass, and RES4LIVE on renewable integration in livestock systems.

The Cool Heating Coalition (CHC) is composed of 17* organisations working to deliver decarbonised, renewable and affordable heating and cooling for all in the EU by 2040. Launched in 2024, CHC has quickly established itself as a key Brussels-based reference on the decarbonisation of Europe’s heating and cooling sector, one of the EU’s largest sources of energy demand and emissions. Together, CHC runs joint EU-level advocacy and communications efforts to accelerate the rollout of clean heating and cooling solutions, while prioritising emissions reductions, lower energy demand, affordability and social fairness. CHC’s work sits at the intersection of climate, energy, housing, consumer protection and public health, with a strong focus on policies that are implementable and effective on the ground. CHC’s members are established think tanks and consumer, social, city, health and environmental organisations. Active in more than 40 European countries, including beyond EU borders, they collectively represent over 3 000 national and local organisations. This broad footprint gives CHC a strong evidence base and direct insight into real-world conditions across Europe. Grounded in data and experience, CHC promotes pragmatic, solutions-focused policies that strengthen energy security, reduce costs for households and ensure the transition to clean heating and cooling is socially fair and credible.

Energy Community Secretariat

Energy Community Secretariat

The Energy Community is an international organisation established by the European Commission to advance the implementation of EU energy, environmental and climate policies in EU accession countries, notably the Western Balkan Six and Ukraine. It serves as a key bridge between the EU and these countries, supporting accession and deeper integration through alignment with the EU acquis. The organisation is institutionally anchored in the EU framework, with the European Commission acting as its Permanent Vice-President. Acting as a strong multiplier, the Energy Community works through a wide and well-established network of national institutions (primarily at ministerial level), financing institutions, NGO contributions and development agencies. We support governments in designing, implementing and monitoring energy and climate reforms, including National Energy and Climate Plans (NECPs), energy efficiency directives, renewable energy regulations, energy market integration and just transition-related policies. Grounded in the EU acquis, we operate at regional and cross-country level rather than through single national or project-based interventions.
